Eldá Guesthouse and Apartments is placed in the small village of Reykjahlid and is close to both local services and a supermarket yet still next door neighboor to your Mývatn adventure. The perfect mix of convenience and adventure.
In our newly fully renovated apartments at Eldá Guesthouse we offer private double rooms, each with a large bed (180x200cm) and private en suite bathroom. Our apartments consist of two private double rooms ensuite, which are rented out separately, a shared fully equipped kitchen and a living room area with soft furniture and tv.

The Diamond Circle
The Diamond Circle can be described as a magnificent circuit of 250km in the Northeast of Iceland, which includes some of the most stunning sights and spots for unearthly landscapes.
Askja
Askja is an enormous caldera and central volcano in the Dyngjufjöll mountains, north of Vatnajökull glacier. The caldera is a bedrock subsidence located above a massive magma chamber, and is still ‘in the making’.
GeoSea
GeoSea is not only a world-class geothermal bathing mecca — it is an experience that taps into the historical roots of a small fishing town in North Iceland that has harnessed the earth’s geothermal waters for centuries.
Whale watching
Experience the traditional tour from Húsavík. Our birthplace is often considered as the Whale Watching Capital of Europe. It is a unique adventure at sea – watching the wonders of nature in the beautiful surroundings of Skjálfandi Bay, sheltered by the stunning mountains of Vík.
Dettifoss
The Dettifoss waterfall is the most powerful waterfall in Europe, 500 cubic meters of water per second plunge over the edge. Dettifoss is 45 m high and 100m wide. A nice hiking trail, 34km, goes along the canyon from Dettifoss to Asbyrgi. Camping is possible in Vesturdalur.
Ásbyrgi
Ásbyrgi is one of the wonders of nature, a well-forested horse-shoe-shaped canyon in Öxarfjörður. Ásbyrgi is a part of Jökulsárgljúfur canyon, within the Vatnajökull National Park.
Krafla
Krafla is a caldera, part of a greater volcanic system of the same name, located north of Lake Mývatn in North Iceland. It is one of the country’s most explosive volcanoes, having gone off approximately 29 times since the country was first settled.
